Life with a twist
The words in blood
Thinking that it would make an impact
Did not realise that even they can fade away

So true.

From a Highlander song: “I’ve got something to say: It’s better to burn out than fade away!” But I wouldn’t try it the way Sylvia Plath or Anne Sexton did. You might want to check them out. They wrote a lot of confessional poetry, then gassed themselves in order to draw attention to their work. You be the judge of how successful they were. Did you ever hear of either poet? …I think it’s totally enough to find one person to love in this life. From Rush: “I don’t believe in destiny or the guiding hand of fate / I don’t believe in forever or in love as a mystical state / I don’t believe in the stars and the planets / Or angels watching from above / But I believe there’s a ghost of a chance / We can find someone to love / And make it last” (from _Roll the Bones_, 1991). Thank you for reading and keep writing.

I’ve heard of both Sylvia Plath AND Anne Sexton, although I do prefer Rush. Great little poem, Vikram!

Yes, even blood dries and fades. I have not ever thought of that really. But it’s true! Nice one Vikram.
